Yukiko (Endo Landis) "Yuki"
Cutlip
April 25, 1931 – June 6, 2026
Yukiko (Endo Landis) Cutlip, 95, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Many fondly called her “Yuki.”
Born on April 25, 1931 in the Edogawa Ward of Tokyo, Japan to mother, Ei, and father, Kazuo Shiraishi. Ei remarried Eiichiro Endo who adopted Yukiko and her three older sisters.
Lovingly remembered and survived by daughter, Terrie Landis (Stephen) Grismer; son, David M. Landis; granddaughter, Nichole (Andy) Frederick and granddaughter, Allison (Steve) Buchwald.
She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in December of 1956. Yukiko proved to be effectively self-reliant in a new country that she fully embraced and worked very hard to raise her children, often working two or three jobs.
She was a woman of few words with a kindhearted presence. She was most expressive with her smile and chuckle. Yuki lived a simple, quiet life and was independent and resilient.
Her first job in the United States was at Rike’s Department Store in downtown Dayton as a seamstress. She later assembled and soldered electronic parts for several companies and ended her career at Systems Research Lab.
She enjoyed bingo, line-dancing and traveling with family and friends. Her travels took her to many places including Disneyworld, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, San Diego, Branson, Las Vegas, Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon, and cruises to the Caribbean and Hawaii, as well as four return visits to Japan.
Her family would like to thank residents and staff members of St. Leonard (The Joseph Bernardin Residence and Traditional Assisted Living) along with Hospice of Dayton for abundant friendships and Yuki’s care during the last years of her life.
There will be no formal service; however, her children will offer their love and respect during a private remembrance. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
The WESTBROCK FUNERAL HOME- KETTERING is serving her family.
