Dickensheets, Timothy J., age 62 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Tim was involved in a motor vehicle accident on 04/29/2026 and sustained life threatening injuries. He died as a result of complications from those injuries. Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mary Dickensheets and his brother, Todd. He is survived by his two sisters and their husbands, Laura (Paul) Guess and Louann (Mike) Lee. He was the proud uncle to his three nephews, Andrew (Jamie) Guess, Zachary (Kayla) Guess, Matthew (Ellie) Ratcliffe, and his two nieces, Marissa (Brandon) Robbins and Megan Lee. He has two great nieces, Lily and Noelle Guess and two great nephews, Luke Guess and Wesley Robbins. He is also survived by many cousins, his Uncle Paul Tegenkamp, Aunt Janet Sheen, and Aunt Helen Flohre.
Tim attended St. Anthony Grade School and graduated from Patterson Co-Op High School, in 1981. He worked as an electrician for Frederick Electric for many years. He went on to work for Elsa’s Restaurants in Dayton, Ohio for over 20 years. He helped to manage and maintain all of the facilities. Tim formed life long friendships with many of the people he met through his work family! He was very loved and respected. Elsa’s treated Tim like their own family.
Many of Tim’s friendships trace all the way back to grade school. He was very close to all of his Monday night/ Red Carpet/Slyder’s/ Choir practice gang! Tim was funny, bull headed, and stubborn but he had the absolute biggest heart! He was constantly helping others in need. He was kind and very generous. Tim had so many talents. He could fix things! He was your go to guy! If Timmy couldn’t fix something, he knew someone who could! Tim had a true love and passion for decorating for Christmas. Our house was always decked out with tens of thousands of lights at Christmas, all of which you could turn on with the flip of one switch! Tim loved decorating for his brother, Todd whom he shared a very special bond with. Our home was featured many times in the Dayton Daily News and on the local television stations. Tim also helped to decorate at his home parish, St Anthony Catholic Church. He gave many hours of service and loved hanging the star that hung from the steeple at Christmas.
Tim was an avid sports fan. He loved cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Dallas Cowboys.
If you knew Tim, you knew that he fought hard to overcome many struggles after suffering from a stroke in September of 2014. He lost the function of his entire right side of his body. He underwent months of physical and occupational therapy to regain function. He also had significant hearing loss. Despite his disabilities Tim kept going and was motivated by many loving family and friends who supported him every step of the way.
Tim had a special friendship with Kayla Czaplicki and her son, Taylor. Tim loved Taylor like his own grandson and spoiled him rotten.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 am. We know that Tim is celebrating with his parents, his brother, and all of his loved ones in Heaven. Your struggles are over, Tim and your hearing is now perfect! Give Mom, Dad, and Todd a big hug from us! Until we meet again, rest in peace, Tim and may our dear Lord, heal our broken hearts!
