Obituary

Thomas (Tom) Edward Kronauge, Sr., 92, of Dayton passed away, Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He was reunited with his wife, Lois, their infant son, Billy and his parents, Frank and Shirley Kronauge. He was a graduate of Chaminade High School, attended the University of Dayton and served in the Army as a helicopter mechanic. After the Army, he joined his Father’s Insurance Company, Frank Kronauge Insurance Agency until he retired. He and Lois enjoyed antiquing, and any sporting event involving their children or grandchildren, they did their very best to attend wherever the game was played. Tom also was an avid UD Flyer Fan as well as an Ohio State Buckeye. After retirement, they travelled throughout the US and Europe thanks to his brother, Fred.

His is survived by his children, Karen (Barry) Bianchi, Tom Kronauge, Jr., Bob (Becky) Kronauge, Ann (Don) King, John (Kristy) Kronauge, Jean (Joe Fugett) Kronauge, Kathleen (Jan) Plotner, Mary Lynn (David) Astles, Danny (Kristen) Kronauge, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grand Children, a brother Fred (Carol) Kronauge, a sister, Mary Ackerman, a step-sister, Mary Jane (Bill) Harris and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet, Thursday, February 5, beginning at 9:30 at St Charles Borromeo Church. His celebration of Life Mass will follow at 10:30. Due to the weather, the graveside service will be held at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel.

Tom’s children wish to extend their sincere appreciation, gratitude and thanks to all his friends at Fairmont of Washington Township, Spring Hills Home Health Care Physical Therapists and Day City Hospice, especially his nurse, Tracy Perdue.
