Obituary

TRZASKA, Theodore T. (Ted)

Age 92 of Washington Township died Monday, October 5, 2026 following a brief illness. Ted was born on February 5, 1934 in Newburgh Heights, OH to John & Antoinette (Rutkowski) Trzaska. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Theresa (Karpinski), son Steven, sister Estelle (Leslie) Austin, and brothers Raymond and Chester (Adeline). He is survived by his children Thomas (Mary Elizabeth) of Muskegon, MI, Catherine of Oakwood, OH, Mary (Austin) Welsh of Overland Park, KS, Ann (Michael) Moell of Centerville, OH, Anthony (Lois) of Carmel, IN, Michael of Kettering, OH, and daughter-in-law Bonita of Minster, OH, 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Ted is also survived by a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ted was a devoted father and grandfather. He and his wife Terry applied their considerable energies to advocate for their son Michael and others with developmental disabilities. A 1956 graduate of Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in electrical engineering, he retired from both NCR Corp., where he worked in research and development, and the Defense Electronics Supply Center (DESC). Ted was an intense hobbyist and builder. From gardening, to winemaking, to constructing his vacation home at Lake Lorelei, to building a pontoon boat in his garage, to taking up cooking, painting and art glass in his retirement, Ted’s hands were always busy. Many people know how to do things today because Ted taught them. Ted & Terry were founding members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Kettering where they were parishioners since 1962. Friends may call at Westbrock & Daniel Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd. from 4:00-7:00pm Sunday, October 11th. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00am, Monday, October 12th at St. Charles Borromeo in Kettering, OH. Visitation will also be held at St. Charles prior to Mass from 10:00-11:00am.
