Obituary

Sidney M. Jett III, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Sidney Jett IV.

Sidney was a proud retiree of the United States Navy and later dedicated many years of service as a mail carrier. He was a man who never met a stranger. Known for his quick wit, playful teasing, and constant joking, Sidney loved “giving people a hard time” in the most endearing way. Beneath his humor was a generous heart. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki; his loving daughters, Stacy Benich and Lindsey Jett; four sisters, Linda “Button” Woody, Zandra Woody, Elizabeth “Bessie” Waggoner, and Teresa Palmer; and his brother, James Jett. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn, Braxton, and Beckhym Benich, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Services will be held, 1:00 pm Wednesday March 4 at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
