Obituary

BUEHRLE, Sheila Ann, age 82, passed away on Saturday April 11, 2026. Born to Paul McLaughlin and Mary Florence McLaughlin Strukamp in Dayton in 1943, she was preceded in death by the same as well as her beloved husband Bill, her daughter Beth, and her brothers Dennis and Mark. She is survived by her daughters Amy Buehrle Light (Marty) and Jennifer Buehrle Williams (Curt); five grandchildren, Clay, Megan, and Cate Williams, and Siena and Will Light. She is also survived by her brother Tom McLaughlin (Diane), sisters Kathy Burson Young (Roger), Gerry Sarmir (Frank), Ellen Fackler (Jack), and in laws, Nancy Hayes (John), Don Buehrle (Judy), Mary Squicciarino (John) and John Buehrle (Shelley), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sheila graduated from Julienne High School in 1961, and later went on to Sinclair Community College, where she became a dental hygienist and worked many years at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

Sheila’s true joys were her family and her faith. After marrying Bill at Corpus Christi Church on October 1, 1966, she went on to become a member at St. Rita’s Church for over 50 years. She raised her family in the faith and participated fully in the life of St. Rita’s Church and School, volunteering to lead and participate in many committees, troops, and teams. St. Rita’s benefitted from the service of Bill and Sheila, and their parish family offered that love and service in return. She took great joy and comfort participating in a Catholic Women’s Prayer group for many years, and received abundant blessings and love from them, most especially her “Monday Sisters” and her dear Jeannette.

Sheila was a true disciple of the Lord and spent her life as a caregiver, first for her own siblings, then for her husband and daughter who required continuous care in their final years. Her commitment to them never wavered and she always did her best to provide opportunity, love, and joy for them. Sheila’s own declining health brought her to North Carolina in recent years, where she was loved and cared for by her children and grandchildren. Even in the midst of suffering, she found joy in her family, who were blessed to learn from her, laugh with her, and care for her in her final years.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the WESTBROCK FUNERAL HOME- KETTERING, 5980 Bigger Road.
