Shawn Patrick Mitchell, 38, of Centerville, OH passed away May 12, 2026. Shawn was born in Fort Rucker, AL on March 15, 1988 to V. James Mitchell and Jeanne (Staples) Hlavin.

As a young man, Shawn was a soccer, skateboarding, and guitar enthusiast who had a particular affinity for the sounds of punk rock music. A history buff who loved documentaries, Shawn focused his career ambitions in business and sales. After a time in real estate, Shawn had a prodigious career in packaging sales.

Aside from a deep love for and dedication to his family, Shawn was a talented cook and dedicated body builder who promoted physical fitness in his life. He shared this passion with his beloved wife of eight years, Ashley, as they turned their dreams into a wonderful reality. Shawn was a proud father of his daughters and was known by all who met him for his generosity of spirit and kindness.

He is survived by his wife, K. Ashley Collins-Mitchell; daughters Freda Mitchell (8) and Bridget Mitchell (6), and step-daughter Greta Collins (11); parents V.James Mitchell and Jeanne (Staples) Hlavin and step-father Paul Hlavin; brother Ryan Mitchell and sister-in-law Lauren Pavia; brother Cory Mitchell, sister-in-law Gina Mitchell, and nephew Nash Mitchell.
