RUTH P. (McKENZIE) LINK, age 95, of Centerville, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, with her loving husband, Rex of 74 years of marriage along with her family at her side. She was born in Wichita, Kansas, on July 22, 1930, the daughter of Donald and Lillian (Anderson) McKenzie.
Ruth dedicated her life to caring for others. She spent many years of her fulfilling career with the Montgomery County MRDD Program, where her patience, compassion, and gentle heart touched countless lives. Later in life, she enjoyed her time working in the cafeteria at Northmoor School. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Leonard and was a member of the Precious Blood Catholic Church. Ruth’s life was filled with the joy of music, she enjoyed her time playing the piano and organ, which she taught her great granddaughter how to play chop sticks. She also had a very tender heart for animals, including hummingbirds and adored many dogs she had and knew throughout her life. She mostly enjoyed simple pleasures in life at family gatherings and spending time with friends in the Weaveaweave Club that her and Rex had been a part of for many years.
Above all, she was devoted to her family as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and cherished every moment she spent with her family.
Ruth leaves behind the love of her life, Rex Link; son, Doug (Mary Jo) Link; daughter, Lynn (Matt) Williams; grandchildren, Andy (Jenny) Link, Nick Link, Kathryn Link, Teagan (Tyler) Williams, Justin Davisson and Matthew Williams; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Zoe and Nathan Link, Edison and Gwendolyn Link and Piper Williams.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by four sisters, Jeanne, Margaret Anne, Rita and Betty; three brothers, Don, Bill and JD.
Ruth’s legacy will live on through the kindness she showed, the people she cared for, and the love she poured into her family.
Ruth selflessly donated her body to the Wright State University Anatomical Gift Program.
A reception in Ruth’s memory will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2025, from Noon to 1:30pm in the WESTBROCK FUNERAL HOME- KETTERING, 5980 Bigger Road, with a celebration of her life beginning at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Ruth’s name to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton or SICSA Pet Adoption in Dayton.
