PRISCILLA ANN GAYNOR, age 96, of Fairborn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Evansville, Indiana, on December 29, 1929, the daughter of Clarence and Dorothy (Bates) Hodapp.
Priscilla was raised in Dayton and attended Julienne High School and Stivers School for the Arts. She spent the majority of her career as a Practical Nurse at many hospitals in the Dayton area, later working at NCR, McCall’s and other businesses before transitioning into a full-time mother and homemaker. On September 27, 1952, Priscilla married the love of her life, John Gaynor, and together they spent the next 39 years raising their beloved family until his passing in 1991. “Mrs. P” had an unconditional love for her family, especially babies, and will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched.
Priscilla is survived by her children, Ann (Brian) Jordan, Kathleen (Michael) Davis, Loretta (Steve) Worley, John Gaynor, George (Rhonda) Gaynor, Rosemary (Douglas) Grove, Julia (Donald) Wood and Margaret (William) Petry; grandchildren, Timmy, Tiffany, Robert, Francis, Jacqueline, Christopher, Melissa, Rebecca, Jocelyn, Marietta, Lucas, Brittany, Jessica, Erica, Elizabeth, Donald, Margaret, Priscilla and Savannah; 33 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Priscilla was preceded in death by her husband, U.S.N. John Anthony Gaynor; son, Robert D. (Karen) Gaynor; grandson, Jesse; brothers and sisters, along with numerous extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the WESTBROCK FUNERAL HOME- DAYTON, 1712 Wayne Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Priscilla’s honor at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 1322 Brown Street beginning at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
Memorial gifts may be made in Priscilla’s name to a Veteran’s organization of your choice.
