Nancy Margaret Smith, 75, of Dayton, passed away August 29, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. Nancy was born on September 28, 1949 in Flushing, NY to the late Paul and Margaret (Morrison) Smith. She was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a big Wolverines fan.
Nancy was a long time resident of Dayton, working 31 years at the Ohio Bureau of Employment.
Nancy was an independent, sentimental, compassionate, and generous woman who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted sister who gave unwavering love and quiet support. She delighted in spoiling her nieces and nephews with their favorite treats, generous gifting, and her time. Nancy found great joy in feeding the birds that visited her backyard, and her compassion extended to the neighborhood cats as well, whom she lovingly fed and cared for.
She is survived by her sister Wendy (Smith) Barber and brother-in-law Pat Barber, nieces Megan Lock Berryhill and Allison Beaulieu, and nephews Jack and Billy Barber, all who will miss her greatly.
A graveside ceremony will be held in Flushing, NY at the Flushing Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice of Dayton, Humane Society of Greater Dayton, or Foodbank Inc, of Dayton.
