In Loving Memory of Monton “Monty” William Koonse.
Monty Koonse was a proud veteran, husband, son, and brother, who passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 55.
Born to Patricia Yovich and Larry Koonse, Monty lived a life defined by courage, honor, and unwavering commitment to service. He proudly served his country in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force, where he embodied the true spirit of dedication and sacrifice. His years in uniform left a legacy of strength and patriotism that will not be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Koonse; stepdaughters, Ava Parnell and Grace Parnell; his parents, Patricia Yovich and Larry Koonse; stepmother, Judy Koonse; his sister, Sharon Nelson, and brother-in-law, Scott Nelson. He will also be deeply missed by extended family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and strength.
A memorial service will be held on a future date at Arlington National Cemetery, with military honors to commemorate his life of service and sacrifice.
