Mary Ann Mauch, age 95, of Centerville, passed away on August 17, 2026. She was born in Dayton on October 29, 1930, the daughter of Elmer and Loretta (Swift) Isenecker.

Mary Ann attended Corpus Christi Elementary School and later was a 1948graduate of Julienne High School. She went on to further her education and would become a 1952 graduate of the University of Dayton.

Throughout her life, Mary Ann was an avid fisherwoman. She loved the family trips she took to Coldwater Lake in Southern Michigan beginning in 1944 and continuing until recent years. She was also an avid gardener. During the 1960’s and 1970’s, she routinely tended to over 100 roses throughout her garden at the family home in Trotwood. Additionally, she was an avid “doer” of many things that she was inspired to master, including yogurt making, mushroom growing, raising worms (yes…worms…for fishing), knitting and playing the piano. Mary Ann especially cherished her Sunday afternoons with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often hosting family dinners while watching classic What’s My Line episodes and NFL games, often while enjoying her margarita with salt on the glass rim.

A devout catholic, she attended daily Mass at St. Charles until recent years when she had to give up driving herself. During her time in the Precious Blood Parish in the 1960’s and 1970’s, Mary Ann was elected to the Parsh Council and School Board, where she also taught high school CCD and adult Religious Education classes.

To further her education, Mary Ann returned to the University of Dayton in 1977, receiving her Masters in Theology, graduating in 1979. After her most recent graduation, she taught adult Religious Education at several parishes in the Dayton region, including those now making up the Mother of God Family of Parishes: St. Charles Borromeo, Church of the Ascension and St. Albert the Great.

She leaves behind her son, Bob (Charise) Mauch; Granddaughters, Andrea (Jeremy) Law and Melissa (Kyle) Ralston, along with her great-grandchildren, Leah, Jaxson and Hayley Law, Lincoln and Logan Ralston.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Mauch, who she married on October 17, 1953 and lived a wonderful life together until his passing in 2010. Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her son, Steve Mauch in 2014, and one brother, Fr. Lawrence Isenecker, SJ.

Mary Ann’s family extends their sincere gratitude to the nurses and caregivers at Fairmont Senior Living for their kind and compassionate care provided to her over the past several months.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 9:30-10:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor by Fr. Jeff Stegbauer beginning at 10:30am. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
