Mary Jo Thoma

Mary Jo Thoma, a cherished soul and beacon of love, gracefully journeyed from this world into eternity on October 14, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on December 2, 1928, in the picturesque town of Logan, Ohio, Mary lived a life that was as vibrant and warm as her spirit. Residing for many years in Oakwood, Ohio, Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She exemplified the virtues of compassion and unwavering faith, touched by a deep love for animals that endeared her to all creatures great and small. Her professional life as a proud dental hygienist not only showcased her commitment to the well-being of others but also reflected her nurturing spirit, which she extended to her family and friends alike. Mary's enthusiasm for life was infectious, colored by her fierce allegiance to the Ohio State Buckeyes, a passion she communicated with fervor, rooting for her team with unmatched loyalty.

Those privileged to have crossed paths with her knew her as a woman of integrity and kindness—if you knew her, you loved her. She leaves behind her loving sons, Jim and Steve, who carry forward her legacy of love and strength. Her beloved grandchildren, Alex, Jordan, Matthew, and Stephanie, remember her warmth and wisdom, with numerous other grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends cherishing the memories they created together.

Preceding Mary in this everlasting journey were her husband, John (Jack), and her son, Tim. She is also reunited with her parents, Lawrence and Mary, and her brothers, Larry and Jim, along with several other relatives who adored her.

Mary's life remains a testament to the beauty of love and devotion, and while she may have departed from our sight, her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. A private celebration of life was held by family and close friends, a fitting homage to a woman whose essence will live on in endless memories—Heaven is now indeed a better place with her grace.
