Margaret “Peggy” Scherer, 71, of Kettering, OH passed away on May 2, 2024. Peggy spent the last several years of her life as a resident at Centerville Health and Rehabilitation and passed away after a brief illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Elizabeth (Heaney) Scherer and brother-in-law, Robert Corpstein. She is survived by her sister, Mary Scherer Corpstein and nieces Suzanne Stewart (Patrick), Catherine Corpstein, and nephew Robert Corpstein (Tina Dudzinski).
Born in Dayton, Ohio September 20, 1952. She graduated from Alter High School and after graduation had a career in modeling. After modeling, Peggy worked for the Marianist Missions in Dayton Ohio. Peggy’s work there is a reflection of her Catholic upbringing and faith. She had a life-long devotion to the Virgin Mary and St. Anthony. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Kettering, Ohio.
Peggy had a deep love for all animals, with a very special affection for horses. She loved to read books, collect art and figurines of her favorite horses, cats, and dogs.
A graveside committal service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
