Marcella A. “Marcie” Pavlo was born on December 7, 1935, in Adams County, OH, and passed away on February 7, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John A. Pavlo, and son, Kevin P. Cruise.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Allan) Kennedy of Centerville, OH, and Mary Avalle of Monterey, CA; her grandchildren, Jamie (Joe) Walker of Charlotte, NC, Megan McCurdy of Breckenridge, CO, Melinda (Chris) Miller of Kansas City, KS, and Shaun (Ali) Kennedy of London, England; her great-grandchildren, Joe, Evan, Riley, Reese, James, and Abraham (Walker); Sonny (Miller); and William, Harriet, and Sadie (Kennedy).
Marcie spent most of her life in the service industry. She was a familiar face serving diners at the King Cole restaurant until it closed. Marcie enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, reading, and singing in the choir at St. Rita Parish. She loved playing in various bridge clubs, beating her family and friends at any poker game, and she knew all the rules to Rummikub. Her quick wit, sense of humor, and card table conversation will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo in Kettering, OH on February 16, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Friends may call an hour before the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Dayton. They provided great peace and comfort to Marcie in her final days.
