Linda K. Waker (Mitchell), a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, her birthplace. Born on November 28, 1941, Linda lived a full and vibrant life that touched the hearts of many. Linda was the daughter of the late Norman and Mary (Davis) Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas J. Waker, who passed away in May 2025. Their partnership was a testament to love and devotion. Linda is also preceded in death by her brother Norman Mitchell. Linda is survived by her four devoted boys: Thomas J. Jr., Mike (Patty) Waker, Steve (Kathy) Waker, and Todd (Debbie) Waker. She cherished her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren Krista (Tim) Drake, Jenna (Matt) Abshear, Nicole (Emory) Landreville, Ben (Kaylee) Waker, Mallory (Jordan) McKnight, Andy, Morgan, and Ashley (Dan) Waker. Her legacy continued through her eight great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life Jordan, Jack, Dylan, Olivia, Charlotte, Sophie, Lillian and Cooper. In addition to her immediate family, Linda is survived by her sisters, Susie Thomas and Debbie (Jack) Leftwich, and her sister-in-law, Peggy Mitchell. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she impacted with her warmth and kindness. A visitation to honor Linda’s memory will take place on September 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Westbrock Funeral Home located at 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering, Ohio. Following the visitation, a funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM. She will then be laid to rest in David's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hospice of Dayton, in her memory. Linda's spirit will live on through the love of her family and friends, and she will always be remembered for her nurturing nature, vibrant smile, and unwavering spirit. Her grandchildren will miss her funny stories and goofy sayings. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
