Kenneth Parrott had an unwavering positive outlook and was in the truest sense a gentleman with an easy manner, a kind soul, and a generous heart. He peacefully passed away at his home in Greensboro, Georgia on Friday morning, July 18, 2025.
An entrepreneur and progressive thinker, Ken embarked on his career in real estate in 1971. He later became one of the most influential and innovative partners in a five-partner group with Heritage Realtors, ultimately spearheading the company’s initial franchise relationship with Coldwell Banker. Then, along with his friend Steve Earman, Ken bought out his partners, and continued their partnership through the establishment of Home Services Title Company and, later, Legacy Mortgage.
They also founded ASK, a nationwide real estate technology company that caters to real estate brokers specializing in the relocation of home buyers and sellers. All these companies continue to thrive today. In 2013, the company was sold, but Ken’s impact on many lives throughout his journey remains profound.
Ken retired to spend the rest of his life in Florida and Georgia, where he passed away after battling glioblastoma cancer. He faced his end-stage cancer with the same openness and acceptance he lived his life; expressing his readiness for the afterlife, stating, “I’m ready for Him whenever He’s ready for me.”
Even during his final months, when he had to face pain, sorrow, regret, fear or depression, you never heard about it from him. Ken was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
He leaves behind a legacy that will inspire the many who knew him and the many he helped achieve success along his own life journey.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Parrott, father, Charlie Parrott, brothers Charles, Orville, Bill, and Johnny.
He is survived by his wife Karen Ogrady, step-daughter, Lisa Braum (Scott) step granddaughter Hannah Braum, sisters Joyce Ann (Jackie) Waldroop, Judy Davis (Lloyd), and Kathy Rogers (Jim).
