Juanita B. (Vancil) Manzo, age 88, of Kettering, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Dayton on October 9, 1936, the daughter of Edward S. Vancil and Catherine Vancil. Juanita worked at Children's World for over 15 years. In her free time, Juanita enjoyed cooking (famous for her chicken and dumplings), loved making quilts, was a great seamstress, enjoyed reading books, playing bocce, and was quite the artist. She leaves behind her four children, Mary (Bob) Nutter, Judith (Tim) Kator, Christine Sloneker, Nicholas (Karen) Manzo; 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Her sister Judy Schwieterman and brother Richard Vancil and her loving dog Lukey. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Michael P. Manzo, son Frank M. Manzo, son-in-law Jeffrey M. Sloneker, parents Edward and Catherine Vancil, and brother Edward Vancil. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 11 to 11:30am followed by the funeral service beginning at 11:30 AM in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made in Juanita ’s name to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue. As well as the Humane Society of Dayton.
