Joe Pumphrey

PUMPHREY, Joe D. age 77, of Centerville, passed away Thursday November 18, 2010. Mr. Pumphrey, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, retired as the Deputy Director of the Far East Division for the Secretary of Defense. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Monika Pumphrey. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years, Margie (Taulbee) Pumphrey; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Kenny Franzman; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Cheryl Pumphrey; five grandchildren, Nick & Liz Pumphrey, Joseph Pumphrey, Samantha Bailargeon, Evan Franzman, Spencer Franzman; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lois & Joe Hall, of Somerset, KY. There will be a funeral service 11:00am Monday November 22nd at Hope United Methodist Church (5980 Wilmington Pike). Entombment will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-4pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road.
