Obituary

Jerold F. Kindle, age 95, of Centerville, Ohio, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Jerold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sylvia, with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage and family life and by his son-in-law, Bill Woodard, the loving husband of his daughter, Gina Woodard.

He is survived by his loving children: daughters Regina “Gina” Woodard and Carla Peterson, and son David (Lori) Kindle. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Brandon (Amber) Woodard, Katie (Jordon) Smith, Molly (Lucas) Prenger, and Kyle Peterson, and a cherished great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

A proud United States Army veteran, Jerold served his country with honor before embarking on a successful and fulfilling career. Jerold lived a full and accomplished life marked by hard work, friendship, and a genuine love for people. Throughout his career, he worked in radio, television, and advertising, including professional collaborations with Phil Donahue. He later owned and operated his own advertising agency and was also involved in real estate.

A proud alumnus of the University of Dayton, Jerold remained actively involved with his alma mater throughout his life. He served on the Golden Flyers Executive Committee and greatly valued the friendships, fellowship, and connections he maintained through the University of Dayton community.

An avid golfer, Jerold spent countless happy hours on the golf course as a longtime member of Walnut Grove Country Club. His passion for the game was rewarded with the rare achievement of two holes-in-one, earning him membership in the Hole-in-One Club. He was also a proud member of the Dayton Agonis Club , where he enjoyed the camaraderie of many lasting friendships.

Above all, Jerold will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and happiness. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, wisdom, and unwavering love for those closest to him. His legacy lives on through the family he treasured and the many lives he touched.
