Eugene E. "Skeeter" Zimmerman, a beloved figure in the Dayton community, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on September 18, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio, Skeeter made significant contributions throughout his life as a dedicated machine operator and mechanic. His technical skills and work ethic were respected by those who knew him and worked alongside him. Skeeter was not only known for his professional accomplishments but also for his passion for cars. He had a particular fondness for working on vehicles, especially hot rods, which brought him immense joy and served as a creative outlet. His love for automobiles often drew him closer to his friends, and he cherished the connections that came from sharing those interests. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Skeeter exhibited unwavering dedication to his country, a value that he carried with him throughout his life. His military service was a point of pride, reflecting his commitment and honor. Skeeter is predeceased by his parents, Elsworth and Ruth Zimmerman, whose legacy he carried with him throughout his life. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on February 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Westbrock Funeral Home located at 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton, OH 45410. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, starting at 1:30 PM, allowing loved ones to gather in remembrance and celebrate Skeeter's life. Eugene E. "Skeeter" Zimmerman will be missed deeply, but his contributions to his family, friends, and community will be cherished forever.
