Dolores Kathleen Broom (Castulik), 98, of Dayton, passed away on October 2, 2026. She was born in Saint Louis, Missourri on Sept. 3, 1928, the daughter of John and Josephine (Pohnan) Castulik.

She and her husband, C. Albert Broom (deceased), were married 57 years. Dolores and Al met when she was working as a registered nurse in St. Louis, MO. She was known by her family and friends for her strong faith, her sense of humor, and her love of dogs. She also loved nature and gardening, an appreciation she passed on to her children.

She is survived by her four children, Mary Broom Dateo (Chris), Kathy Reineke, Anne Stephens (Mike), Michael Broom (Marnie), and multiple grandchildren. The family would like to thank her circle of wonderful friends and neighbors whose support helped her live a life she described as blessed.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 10-11am in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 9579 Yankee Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Hospice of Dayton. Dolores' family is grateful to Hospice of Dayton for the exceptional care provided to her.
