Dennis Michael McCormick

DENNIS MICHAEL McCORMICK, age 82, of Spring Valley, passed away in his home on May 12, 2025. He was born in Dayton on August 31, 1942, the son of John T. and Hazel A. (Deady) McCormick.

Dennis was a 1961 graduate of Chaminade High School and later attended the University of Dayton. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the United States Navy. Dennis served as a police officer for the City of Kettering before retiring from General Motors after 22 years of service. He was a faithful member of Incarnation Parish and later St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for many years.

Dennis leaves behind his children, Bryan McCormick and Melissa McCormick; siblings, Carol (Charles) Voglewede, Kathleen (David) Voglewede, Nancy (Nicholas) Mussro, Joseph McCormick, John “Terry” McCormick, Thomas McCormick and Martha McCormick.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Osterday) McCormick; sister, Mary Ann Richards and his brother, Timothy (Grace) McCormick.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 11:00 am to Noon in the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Noon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton. The WESTBROCK FUNERAL HOME-KETTERING is serving the family.
