David P. “Dave” Laughlin, age 78, of Kettering, passed away suddenly in his home on May 15, 2025.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, John P. and Dorothy C. (Smyth) Laughlin, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is survived by his sister, Sue A. Laughlin.

After his graduation from St. Charles Preparatory School of Bexley, Ohio in 1964, Dave attended The Ohio State University, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Business Psychology and became a lifelong Buckeye football fan. He later attended the University of Dayton, where he obtained his Master of Business Administration degree.

Dave had a long, accomplished career at NCR, receiving several patents for his work and traveled worldwide while working for the company.

His love for the outdoors, pets, music, entertaining and going on long, quiet, wooded walks with his dogs never waivered and were always some of his lifelong passions.

Dave was laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery, Circleville.

Memorial gifts may be made in Dave’s name to Five Rivers Metroparks.
