Daniel James Kirsch, 84, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026. Born on August 11, 1941, in Brookville, Pennsylvania, to Clair and Ruth (Feighner) Kirsch. Dan lived a life marked by devotion to his family, the Catholic faith, and country.
Dan graduated from the University of Dayton and went on to a successful career with Sears, where he worked for thirty years. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he served his country with honor during the Vietnam war.
A devout Catholic throughout his life, Dan's faith was a cornerstone of his character. It provided him with strength and guidance throughout his journey.
Dan is survived by his loving family: Charlotte (O'Daniel) Kirsch, his beloved wife of 60 years; his son Dan Kirsch; daughters Anne (Kirsch) Davis and Kelly (Kirsch) Moore (Doug); his treasured grandchildren: Danielle Beavers (Justin), Kimberly Davis, Anna Davis, Braden Moore, Brennon Moore, Kori Moore, Dane Moore, DJ Moore, Ava Moore, Gabe Moore, and Jude Moore; and his treasured great-grandchildren Isabelle Cervantes and Charlotte “Charli” Beavers. He is also survived by seven siblings: Suzanne Ross, Darrell Kirsch, Barry Kirsch, Dick Kirsch, Frank Kirsch, Marion Shirey, and Tom Kirsch. He was predeceased by his parents Clair and Ruth Kirsch and his brother Father Greg Kirsch.
He loved tending his garden and was an avid UD and Penn State sports fan. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren—whether attending their events or simply spending time together.
