Christopher J. Moorman

Christopher J. Moorman, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this life on April 21, 2025, at the age of 66, in his beloved hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on October 4, 1958, Christopher was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him, a dedicated school bus driver for Fairborn City Schools, and a proud veteran of the US Army and the US National Guard. Christopher was more than just a dedicated professional; he was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from his children. His love and unwavering support were sources of strength for them as they pursued their own dreams. Christopher held a special pride in his daughter, Shannon Moorman, as she navigated her educational journey to become a social worker. His encouragement and belief in her aspirations fueled her ambition and determination, and his spirit will continue to walk beside her through every step of her education and at each graduation to come. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Shannon Moorman, along with his son and daughter-in-law, Jason (Kelsey) Moorman, and his beloved daughter-in-law, Erin Moorman. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Madilyn and Bryson Moorman, who illuminated his world with laughter and joy. Christopher’s spirit will also be carried on by his siblings: Paula (Bob) Bauerle, Tom (Judy) Moorman, Barbara Grilliot, Maria Estes, Dan Moorman, Jody Moorman, Amy Moorman and Pat Moorman, as well as his brother-in-law, Jim Middleton. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish the memories they made with him. Although Christopher's journey on this earth has come to an end, he is reunited in spirit with those who left before him, including his beloved son, Shawn Moorman, and his dear parents, Edgar and Magdalene (Shay) Moorman. He also joins his siblings Stephanie Middleton, David Moorman, and Jerry Moorman, alongside brother-in-law Rick Estes, all of whom have imprinted profound love on his heart. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd, Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am on Friday, May 2, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Dayton. Christopher will then be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. As we remember Christopher J. Moorman, let us honor a life dedicated to service, family, and love. His gentle spirit and warm heart touched many, and he will be sorely missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on in the lives he has influenced and the love he has shared.
